Bloom Architects considers these relationships together, with attention to the arrangement of living spaces, the clarity of entrances and the transition between private and communal life.
Our projects in Toronto, Windsor and Mississauga explore apartment and rental housing through distinct urban settings. Building form and material character are considered alongside the everyday experience of light, outlook and outdoor space.
BUILDING AND NEIGHBOURHOOD
A residential character, from room to street.
At The Archer, masonry arches and recessed openings give a seven-storey building a rhythm along a Toronto main street. South Hill Residences responds to its corner setting through articulated massing, curved balconies and a recessed upper level. Both use depth and material to relate a larger building to its surroundings.
The Windsor apartment development places an emphasis on family-oriented two- and three-bedroom homes. At Mississauga Mid-Rise, spacious suite layouts, private balconies and shared amenities extend the residential brief beyond the individual apartment. These projects consider outdoor space as part of daily living, rather than an addition to the façade.
