LAKE SIMCOE
TRANSITIONAL PREFAB COTTAGE
The Lake Simcoe House is a custom-designed, prefabricated two-storey residence located along the scenic shoreline of Lake Simcoe near Barrie, Ontario. Thoughtfully designed to blend with its natural surroundings, the home embraces both efficiency and beauty through a modular construction approach.

The structure will be assembled from four prefabricated modules — three forming the ground floor and one placed above to create the second storey. This modular system allows for a streamlined construction timeline while maintaining high-quality craftsmanship and environmental sensitivity.
Clad in a refined palette of natural materials including wood and stone, the home is designed to integrate seamlessly into the surrounding landscape, echoing the textures and tones of the lakefront environment.

Complementary materials such as exposed steel and expansive glass elements introduce a modern industrial edge, bringing contrast and contemporary expression to the warm natural finishes.
Architecturally, the design features low-sloping rooflines with extended overhangs on both levels. These overhangs not only provide passive solar shading during the summer months but also lend a strong visual identity to the home — reinforcing its horizontal character and deep connection to the land.

The Lake Simcoe House is a study in balance — where prefabricated precision meets design sophistication, and modern form meets timeless natural beauty.
