Custom Homes
A home shaped around its people and place.

A PARTICULAR WAY OF LIVING
A custom home begins with the relationship between a client’s daily life and a particular piece of land. Arrival, privacy, light and the way rooms connect matter as much as the character of the building from the street. Bloom Architects brings these considerations together through proportion, materiality and spatial planning.
Our work spans new residences and substantial transformations in Toronto and surrounding Ontario communities. An established urban lot, a suburban garden and a landscape with changing levels each suggest a different architectural response.
FROM STREET TO INTERIOR
Character is built through relationships.
At Forest Hill North Transitional, a composed two-storey exterior gives way to a sequence of split levels that separates activities within the home. In Markham, connected living spaces open toward the backyard. Both projects consider the experience of moving through the house alongside its outward expression.
Not every brief calls for a new beginning. Etobicoke Transitional reimagines a bungalow as a multigenerational family home while retaining its foundation and structural walls. At Lorne Park Gothic Revival Estate, topography and views toward the wetland shape the relationship between the house and its landscape.
