This custom two-storey residence, designed by Bloom Architects, is situated on a rare lakefront site in Mississauga and draws inspiration from the romantic language of English cottage architecture while reinterpreting it through a clean, contemporary lens. The home's sculptural rooflines, asymmetrical massing, and hand-troweled white brick façade evoke a timeless elegance, balanced by crisp black window framing and restrained detailing that anchor the design firmly in the present.
About the project
The front elevation is defined by its dramatic, swooping gables and arched central entryway, establishing a stately arrival sequence. The rear façade, oriented toward the lake, is intentionally more porous—featuring expansive glazing, subtle verticality, and a series of articulated bays and terraces that soften the transition from interior to landscape. Inside, the plan is organized to frame panoramic lake views at every opportunity, blending formality with warmth and livability.
